Welcome Aboard!
The Dorchester Skipjack Committee always welcomes new volunteers to help with the sailing of the Nathan, with the maintenance of the skipjack, and with administrative duties.
The committee meets 2 times a month to discuss, plan and make operational decisions. Topics include administrative/financial, boat maintenance, procedures, scheduling (the boat and crew) and marketing.
Volunteer Opportunities with the Nathan of Dorchester
No experience needed. Training provided by Coast Guard licensed captain. Must be able to commit to enough time aboard the Nathan to become proficient – safety is our main concern!
Painting, engine work, metal work, electrical repairs – all skills are needed!
- Marketing/Public Relations
Writing, photography, flyers, media contact, potential charter contacts.
Onboard educators for our educational charters. Activities include navigation, sailing, oysters, bay ecology and knot tying. New program ideas are welcome.
